REMEDIAL MASSAGE IN MANDURAH
Remedial massage at EiraForma is shaped around your body, physical demands, preferences and what you would like from the appointment. Whether work, training or everyday life has left you feeling tight or uncomfortable, your therapist begins by understanding what has brought you in before deciding how the session should be approached.

UNDERSTANDING REMEDIAL MASSAGE
More Than Simply “Deep Massage”
Remedial massage is a form of hands-on soft-tissue therapy. A therapist may use different massage techniques and levels of pressure across muscles and other soft tissues depending on why you have attended, what is comfortable and what appears appropriate for the session. Although people sometimes associate remedial massage with very firm pressure, effective treatment does not need to mean enduring the deepest pressure possible. Some areas or people may suit firmer techniques. Others may benefit from a gentler approach. At EiraForma, pressure and technique are tools, not goals. The aim is to provide a considered session shaped around the individual rather than delivering the same massage to everyone.
PRESSURE AND TECHNIQUE ARE TOOLS, NOT GOALS.

WHY PEOPLE BOOK
Start With What Your Body Has Been Dealing With
People book remedial massage for many different reasons. These are broad reasons someone may choose massage, not conditions guaranteed to improve.
Muscular Tightness & Discomfort
When muscles feel tight, sore or uncomfortable following everyday activity or changes in physical demand.
Desk Work & Driving
For people spending extended periods working at a desk, driving or remaining in similar positions throughout the day.
Physical Work & Trades
For muscular demands associated with lifting, carrying, repetitive tasks, long shifts and physically demanding work.
Sport & Training
For active people looking for hands-on soft-tissue care around training, competition or periods of increased physical demand.
General Recovery
For people wanting some dedicated time for physical recovery during demanding weeks.
Persistent, severe, unusual or worsening symptoms can have many causes. Massage is not a substitute for appropriate medical assessment where one is required.
YOUR VISIT
Understand First. Then Tailor the Session.
01 — UNDERSTAND
Tell Us What You Need
Your therapist begins by discussing what has brought you in, relevant health information, areas you would like addressed and what you hope to get from the appointment. This is also the time to mention previous injuries, current health conditions, medications or anything else that may affect how massage should be approached.
02 — FOCUS
Agree on the Priorities
A 30-minute appointment may focus on one main region, while longer appointments provide more time for multiple areas or a broader session. Your therapist will help establish a realistic focus within the time available.
03 — TAILOR
Adapt the Treatment
Pressure, techniques, positioning and areas treated can be adapted throughout the appointment according to your needs and comfort. Remedial massage is not a fixed routine.
04 — REVIEW
Check How You’re Feeling
Your therapist may discuss how the area feels after treatment and, where useful, provide simple movement, recovery or self-management suggestions. If something appears to require assessment outside the scope of massage, this can also be discussed.
THE SESSION
Different Techniques. One Individual Approach.
Remedial massage can involve a combination of techniques rather than one specific method. Depending on the individual and the reason for attending, your therapist may use techniques involving:
Broad Massage & Soft-Tissue Work
Rhythmic stroking, kneading and compression can be used across muscles and surrounding soft tissues.
Focused Pressure
More targeted pressure may sometimes be applied to areas that feel sensitive, tight or uncomfortable.
Deeper Techniques
Some presentations and preferences may suit firmer pressure or deeper soft-tissue techniques. Deeper does not automatically mean better.
Gentler Techniques
A lighter approach may be appropriate depending on the area, sensitivity, health history or simply what the person prefers.
Movement or Position Changes
Treatment position may change during an appointment to comfortably access different areas or adapt the session to the individual.
Treatment Shaped Around You
Your therapist may not use every technique. The approach is selected around the person, the session and what feels appropriate.
YOUR COMFORT MATTERS
A Remedial Massage Does Not Have to Hurt
Some people prefer firmer massage. Others do not. There is no requirement to tolerate excessive pressure simply because the appointment is described as remedial massage. Your therapist should communicate with you about pressure and comfort throughout the session. You can ask for more or less pressure, ask why a technique is being used, ask to change position, ask for an area not to be treated, request a pause, stop a technique or change your mind. Treatment can be adjusted at any stage. Your feedback helps shape the appointment.
KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT
Your Privacy Comes First
Depending on the areas being treated, your therapist may ask whether you are comfortable adjusting or removing some clothing. You should only undress to the level you are comfortable with. Areas not being treated can remain covered using appropriate towels or draping, and only the area being worked on needs to be exposed. If you would prefer a different approach, tell your therapist. Comfort, privacy and consent should remain part of the appointment from beginning to end. If you are unsure what to wear, comfortable clothing is a good starting point and your therapist can explain any options once you arrive.
CARE IN CONTEXT
Your Week Doesn’t Happen in a Treatment Room
Work, training, family life and routines all influence how your body feels. A session can be shaped around the physical demands that matter to you.
Desk Work & Driving
Long periods in one position can leave some people feeling stiff or uncomfortable. Massage can be tailored around the areas that have been carrying those demands.
Trades & Physical Work
Repetitive tasks, lifting, carrying and long shifts can place substantial physical demands on the body. A session can focus on the regions most relevant to the work you actually do.
Sport & Training
Training demands change across a week or season. The timing, focus and pressure of a massage can be adapted around current activity and personal preference.
Everyday Life
Family life, gardening, travel, disrupted routines and demanding weeks can all influence how your body feels. Sometimes the useful starting point is simply understanding what has been demanding the most from you.
AFTER YOUR MASSAGE
Everyone Responds Differently
Some people feel relaxed or more comfortable immediately after massage. Others may notice temporary tenderness, soreness or tiredness, particularly after firmer treatment. Minor soreness can occur after massage and does not necessarily mean something has gone wrong. Your therapist can discuss what may be reasonable based on the session you have received. If symptoms are severe, unusual, persist, worsen significantly or concern you, seek appropriate healthcare advice rather than assuming they are a normal response to massage.
WORKING TOGETHER
One Part of the Bigger Picture
Remedial massage is a complementary form of care. Some people book massage as a standalone service. Others use it alongside exercise, rehabilitation, chiropractic care, physiotherapy, medical care or other approaches. Being treated at EiraForma does not mean every service at EiraForma is automatically required. If another approach appears more appropriate, the aim is to point you in the right direction rather than add unnecessary treatment.
